This is Roxy, waiting for her very first raw dinner.
I made the cats some raw food - ground turkey, polenta, nutritional yeast, butter, and assorted vitamins and minerals. Roxy has been having bladder troubles and she's only 2. She's way too young for that sort of thing, so I figured I'd try feeding them raw, homemade cat food. If anyone else has any experience with this, please let me know. I'd love to hear about it.

Feel better Roxy!

Cats are just like people -- they need to drink more water. And therein lies a problem: They all want it so fresh. Over the years all of my various cats have asked for a free-flowing stream running through the house! :)

I feed raw to my dogs. I've also worked in a pet health food store that fed raw food for dogs and cats. Did you cat take to it right away? Many cats are much pickier than dogs. I've never heard anyone put butter as an ingredient in the raw food. Cats are carnivorous so they really only need meat, organ meat, bones, and some other vitamins and minerals. Of course vegetables can't hurt! Anywase, good for you for changing up the diet! If it doesn't work out for you there are places where you can buy pre-made raw food for cats and it may be easier to feed.
